Max Bacerra Scholarship Awards Program

Applications are now being accepted for the Max Bacerra Scholarship Awards Program. The Housing Authority of the County of Kern will be awarding scholarship awards to worthy students of any age that are Housing Authority residents or Section 8 participants. 

The deadline to submit applications is May 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Project-Based Voucher Program

The Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program provides rental assistance at designated apartment communities throughout Kern County.

The waiting list will open on May 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM (PST). Applications will be accepted online beginning at that time until further notice.

Mountain View Village

Applications for Mountain View Village in Lamont, CA are now available! Mountain View Village offers 40 two-bedroom apartment homes featuring vinyl plank wood flooring, a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. Residents will also have access to secured bicycle storage lockers, a laundry facility, clubhouse, on-site manager, picnic area, and playground. Apply online.

 

Rosaleda Village

Applications for Rosaleda Village in Wasco, Ca are now available! Affordable housing for farmworker households. All homes have a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, laminate wood flooring, granite countertops, & washer & dryer hook-ups. Get an application now by calling (661) 493-2367.

 

Accepting Applications

Applications are being accepted for single family rental homes for households with farm labor income. These houses are located near Fairview and S. Union Ave. Each home features two car garage, washer and dryer, stove, microwave and refrigerator.
