Scholarship Awards Program

Each year, the Housing Authority awards scholarships to worthy students who reside in its public housing or USDA developments.  These scholarships are to assist students with college, technical/trade school expenses for books, tuition, fees, transportation, etc., and students of any age may apply.

To be eligible to receive a scholarship, students must show proof of acceptance from a college, technical/trade school or be currently enrolled in a high school, college, or a technical/trade school and must obtain an application from their Housing Manager in February of each year.

You can also download the application here.  Return the completed application to your Housing Manager or to the central office at 601 -24th Street, Bakersfield, CA., by April 1st of each year.  Applications may also be faxed to:   661-631-9500.  Applications can also be emailed to pjones@kernha.org.
