AGENCY INFORMATION

GENERAL AGENCY DESCRIPTION:  

The Housing Authority of the County of Kern, with Central Offices located at: 601 - 24th Street, Bakersfield, California, 93301, operates under the guidance of a seven-member Board of Commissioners. Commissioners are appointed by the Kern County Board of Supervisors.  Two of the seven Commissioners must reside in public housing and are referred to as "Tenant Commissioners."

The Agency has approximately 113 employees, with an administrative structure headed by an Executive Director who reports directly to the Board of Commissioners.
