Residences at West Columbus
Residences at West Columbus is a planned 56-unit affordable housing development to be located on West Columbus Street in Bakersfield. The property will provide 20 one-bedroom homes with permanent supportive housing for emancipated foster youth and 36 two and three bedroom homes for families earning less than 50% of Area Median Income. Construction will start in spring 2012 with funding provided by the California Housing Finance Agency, City of Bakersfield, Housing Authority and the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee.

Hallmark Apartments
Hallmark Apartments is an existing 48-unit USDA 515 affordable housing development in Lamont. Golden Empire Affordable Housing Inc. is acquiring the property in order to preserve it as affordable housing and to rehabilitate the property for the benefit of residents. The Housing Authority will issue tax-exempt bonds to finance the acquisition and rehab with additional financing from the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee and County of Kern. The rehab is expected to begin in 2012.
